The students of Grade VIII took part enthusiastically in the World Environment Day Awareness Walk arranged on 5th June at Hunza level by Karakoram Area Development Organization (KADO).
The School’s Literary Society (both the English & Urdu Clubs) organized a “Bazm-e-Adab” on 25th June; the programme included recitation of students’ creative writing, national songs and ghazal singing, speeches and skits on various topics of students’ interest. The objectives of the Bazm-e-Adab were to give a chance to all the interested students of the school to show their talents and enhance their confidence by performing on the stage.
The school celebrated the World Environment Day on 26th June by holding an Inter-school Environment Day Programme. The objectives of celebrating this day were to high light the environmental issues, to raise awareness amongst the students about them and to create a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Ten schools from the three educational systems (Government, Private English medium and AKES, P) working in the vicinity participated in this programme which included English Speech, Creative Qawali, Urdu Creative Writing and Drawing/Painting competitions on environmental themes/issues. AKHSS, Hunza bagged the 1st position in English Speech contest, and the 2nd positions each in Creative Qawali, Urdu Creative Writing and Drawing/Painting competitions.
During the Summer Holidays, the school will remain busy with its First three-week-long Summer Camp in July. The main objectives of this camp are to provide the female students opportunities to experience life at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Hunza and its Hostel, to enhance their talents and confidence, to learn various key skills and games and to have fun and entertainment.
