Pakistan Medical Association "Safe Guard", celebrated the World Hand Washing Day on 25 September 2008. The students of classes III-VI participated in this activity. The objective was to let students identify the healthy habits i.e. the significance of proper hand washing. The team of doctors conducted the sessions. The session was very interactive and students were involved in the session through a question answer session. Students had several questions which were answered by the facilitators. This helped to clarify their concepts. A movie was shown which reflected the reality about the actual awareness of our society about Hand Washing as well as the consequences if proper safety measures are not followed. Watching this video was a very exciting part of the session. All students were invited to wash their hands and see the positive effects of hand washing through proper soap. This interesting, interactive and lively activity served a purpose of health awareness about the proper hand washing. The main success of the session was that the students were involved in the session which made them confident and creative.
