On 21st March 2009, a team of 35 foreign delegates visited Diamond Jubilee High School representing various countries across Asia and Africa. The team comprised of eminent personalities and prominent educationists from the ministry and education department. This visit was organised by National Institute for Education Planning and Administration (NIEPA). It was our privilege and honor to have these much esteemed guests visit our school, as DJHS was the only school in the city chosen for this visit.

On the arrival, the team arrived was warmly welcomed by the Principal Ms. Priya Nair and her team. A Lezim dance artistically performed by the young kids was highly appreciated by the guests. The dignitaries were shown a presentation of the school and then taken for a visit around the school highlighting the different facilities offered by the school. The team also observed the classes and the varied range of activities offered to our students. They walked through the chemistry, biology and physics laboratories, music room, art room, computer laboratories and were impressed with the school infrastructure. They interacted with the Student Council and asked them questions which were well answered. The team interacted with teachers and students and browsed through teachers’ lesson-plans. Few parents were also given an opportunity to interact with the team.

Our students posed challenging questions to the guests, which resulted in an intelligent dialogue and discussion. After the observation the team again met the Principal and appreciated the processes and functioning of the school. They were in awe of the school building and amenities. It was heartening to see the high appreciation that the team had for the staff and students of the schools and has given us the motivation to work harder towards reaching even greater heights.
