Sports

10 August 2009

The main sports this term were football for boys and netball for girls.

We entered three age categories this term, the Open, U-15 and U-13 boys. All the three categories played on league basis.

Soccer - Open boys
The boys have played well throughout the season losing only one game. However, the league was not concluded since some schools pulled out. This forced the games department to organize for friendly games. Out of the four games played they only lost one. Well done boys!

Soccer -U 15 and U13 boys
The U 15 played their matches on one weekend and managed third position overall. The highlight for the U 15 boys was during the John Garrod tournament organized by Braeburn high school. The boys played their hearts out and managed to reach the semi final. They played Light Academy and although they were the first to hit the net, they eventually succumbed to 2-1. The light Academy was the eventual winners of the tournament. The U 13 boys were also third in their pool of six schools.

Netball
We had three age categories, Open, U15 and U13 girls. U 15 and U13 played in a league while Open played friendly and organized tournament. The U15 maintained their unbeaten record through out the preliminary matches. They qualified for the semi finals but lost narrowly to Premier Academy. U 13 girls made us proud when they came second in a tournament organized by Premier Academy. However, they did not do well in the league since they did not go past first round. The open girls won all their friendly matches and we hope next season there will be enough schools to run a league.

Hockey
The girls won second place at the Aga Khan Hockey Tournament held at City Park. The boys were third in their pool of six schools.
