Community Helpers - AKNS Students Learn Who They Are

This unit allowed the students at AKNS to get to know the different groups of people or individuals who contribute to the running of the school and their wider community. The students learnt about the different responsibilities of these people and how they help them and their community in their daily lives.

By getting to know different kinds of people; the children will have a better understanding of how important it is to be a part of a community and that all of us can help each other in many ways. Therefore, the children decided to invite a range of helpers into the school.

Former President of Tanzania, Honourable Benjamin MkapaVisitors to the school included: A Nurse, a Doctor, Firefighters, Ambulance Staff, Policemen, the Presidential Guard, Former President, Dentists.

The Students at AKNS also learnt about the role and responsibilities of Airport staff and Aircraft personnel as their community helpers and visited Julius Nyerere International Airport. They spent time on an aircraft ad also had the opportunity to interview the Pilot and Cabin Crew.
