The school has maintained an excellent performance and has returned an average point score of 30 points, which has been in line with the world average. AKMSS is one of the three schools in Tanzania offering the IB DP and has been keen to sustain its vision of being a school of excellence in the Tanzanian educational landscape. This year, the top student, Sakina Dharsee, obtained 41 points, up from the highest score of 38 points last year.

With these excellent results our students have also demonstrated leadership skills, significant community service and a keen interest in extra curricular activities. This has helped many of our students obtain admission to the best universities globally, three students this year being accepted to Ivy Leagues schools – Cornell and Brown. Sakina Dharsee was this year awarded the prestigious International Leader of Tomorrow (ILOT) scholarship from The University of British Columbia (UBC), this being the third year in a row that the scholarship has been awarded to an AKMSS student. Of the total 35 graduates, 80% have obtained placement in top universities in USA, the UK and Canada, and 30% were granted scholarships by various universities. A few of the students are currently processing their admissions to South Africa and Australia and the school expects to have over 90% admission rate to international universities.
