The Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad hosted a 10-day summer camp programme for primary level students in advance of the official opening of the Academy on August 16, 2011.

The Academy’s first students arrived at the new, purpose-built campus by bus, eagerly awaited by the faculty and staff of the summer programme.

The students were greeted warmly and were introduced to their teachers during the first assembly. They then proceeded to the classrooms in their learning groups.

Guided by the teaching staff, the children participated enthusiastically in a variety of fun learning activities.

Classroom-based activities included graphing, visual representation and singing as well as an intensive but fun approach to English language learning to improve the students' language and creative skills.

And, of course, there were games! The in-class activities were complemented each day by both informal and organized playtime outdoors on the Academy grounds.

At the end of each busy day, the children lined up for their bus journey home.
