The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa held its Second Annual Rounders Tournament for girls on Saturday, 1 October, 2011. The competition involved two age groups: the Under 11s and the Under 13s.
In the Under 11 category, the Aga Khan team emerged victorious by winning all their matches for the second year running. They collected 15 points for the win against three other teams. The final totals were:
Aga Khan Academy – 15 points
Jaffery Academy – 11 points
Braeburn Mombasa International School – 7 points
Al Madrassa Academy–MSB – 3 points.
The following students were part of the Aga Khan Academy’s Under 11 team: Nikita Gyssler, Malaika Chenyne, Rishika Gokhale, Saumya Gupta, Anna Clarke, Namrata Srivatsava, Urvi Dayle, Mariam Taib, Amy Mbugua and Keziah Seifert.
In the Under 13 category, the Aga Khan Academy tied for third in a field of 7 teams, with Mombasa Academy taking the win for the second year in a row. The final totals were as follows:
Mombasa Academy – 30 points
Braeburn Mombasa International School – 26 points
Aga Khan Academy – 18 points
Shree Swaminarayan – 18 points
Al Madrassa Academy–MSB – 14 points
Jaffery Academy – 14 points
Oshwal Academy – 6 points.
