Inter Schools Chess Competition

The Inter Schools Chess Competition was held at Nyali Primary School Mombasa on 17th September, 2011 and was organized by the Mombasa Chess Club.

Aga Khan Primary School, Mombasa performed well as it produced the best girl of the tournament Aisha Hatimy Abubakar, who outshined all the other girls in the tournament and received a Gold Medal for her flair on the chess board.

In conjunction with the Hindu Council of Kenya, an interschool Hindu Religious Education quiz was organized at Aga Khan Primary School, Mombasa where two other schools, Arya Primary School and M.M. Shah Primary School participated.

Aga Khan Primary School, Mombasa was up against tough competition: Arya Primary who were initially leading by by 20 points but the our team of strong players being Mir Agravat, Shreya Panchal, Meharshi Patel, Nandni Parmar and Sahil Modesa fought their way to the top position:

Aga Khan Primary School, Mombasa: 340 POINTS – Gold medal

Arya Primary School: 320 POINTS – Silver medal

M.M. Shah Primary: 150 POINTS – Bronze medal

The function was attended by Mr. Prakash Parmar who is the Chairman of the Hindu Council of Kenya, (Mombasa branch) and also by Mr. Madhukant Shah, who is the Secretary.

Also present were other HRE panel members of Hindu Council of Kenya.
