The Aga Khan School, Dhaka was invited to the launch of British Council’s Teacher Resource Center in collaboration with Trust College in Uttara. The event was attended by Miss Nicola Sum, Head of Education AKSD and both PDTs, Ms Khaleda Rahman and Ms Syeda Sadia Ferhat on the 10th of May, 2012. His Excellency the British High Commissioner, Mr. Robert Gibson spoke of the value of such a resource and highlighted the worldwide recognition of the UK education and training frameworks. British Council Schools Programme Development Manager, Wider South Asia, Mr.Dominic Regester also spoke on the necessity of opening a resource center for ongoing development of teachers and students in Uttara.
The Aga Khan School, Dhaka has an established reputation for the quality of its teacher training programmes, and continues to explore collaborative opportunities to build capacity in the local educational community. It is hoped that this Resource Centre will facilitate new developments in the ongoing work of both the British Council and AKSD.
