The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi - Nursery School

The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi - Nursery School is an Early Years (EY) Primary Years Programme (PYP) Authorised school offering the best in international education at a pleasant campus in the neighbourhood of the National Museum.

The School serves 250 students from international and multi-cultural communities. It provides a secure learning environment where the child is valued and respected, and there are opportunities for each child to learn individually and independently through exploration and active interaction with his or her environment.

The School’s mission is to provide a well-balanced foundation in Early Childhood Education with the aim of preparing students to face challenges, take advantage of opportunities that will be encountered in the next level of education and participate actively in the building of a responsible society.

The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi - Nursery School is the first and the only IB Early years PYP World School in Kenya. The School has been authorized to teach the International Baccalaureate Primary Years programme (PYP) since 2012 and offers this programme from K1 to K3. In addition to the PYP curriculum, the School offers the following special programs:

EAS Curriculum
For the Playgroup (2–3 year olds) classes, EAS curriculum is utilized.

LAMDA
London School of Music and Dramatic Arts gives children the opportunity to develop ways to express their feelings and attitudes through music, drama and arts.

Tae-Kwo-Ndo
Apart from physical fitness, this martial art helps improve children’s concentration and discipline. Children learn how to have self-control which is an important skill in social relations.

Information Technology
All classrooms have computers to support learning and there is also a fully equipped computer lab that helps students learn computer skills from an early age.

Swimming
A heated age-appropriate pool with a qualified instructor enables children to learn how to swim at an early age.

Skating
Skating enables children to learn balance, coordination, stamina and concentration.

Clubs
At least 3 different activities are offered each day for K1 and K2 children.

Play House
A fully-equipped house with safe-play home equipment helps develop social and emotional skills.
