Posted on 21 November 2011
The drama team did the school proud at the Kisumu Regional Drama Festival held at Chemelil Academy by scooping all the second positions in the play, choral verse and solo verse categories. The event began on March 9th and ended on 12th March 2011. All the three items proceeded to the Provincial level, which was held from the 15th to the 19th of March 2011 at Tendere High School and Sameta High School in Gucha District. The Choral verse was ranked second overall.
The main presenters were Janet Sonia, Bernadette, Linda Magiri, Becky Jobita, Joyce Awuor, Kerren Happuch, Renee Odaga, Tyra Atieno, Babra Blasto, Gift Okusa, Mariam Nyanguka, Cynthia Paula, Francisca Omondi, Rubi Kelen and Shandra Onyango.
The Choral verse did not proceed to the National Level since it is only position 1 that will be
proceeding.
Also ranked second was the play, entitled the "Governor’s Daughter", where Joyce Awuor emerged First Runners-up Best Actress.
The other key players who were recognized for their exemplary contribution in this category were Mr. David Ogaja, the head teacher, who was declared First Runners-up Best Play Producer and Mr. Athumani Amani was First Runners-up Best Play Director. The play is proceeding to the National level set for 5th to 12th April at Lenana High School, Nairobi.
