The Aga Khan School, Madaklasht is over three decades old. It started in 1980 as a primary school with only 54 students and a single teacher, situated in a house. In 1985, it was upgraded to a middle school, and in 2002, to a community high school. It has been an AKES,P high school since 2015.
The school now serves over 340 students, 45% of which are female. English is the medium of instruction and the school teaches pre-primary through high.
AKS Madaklasht is affiliated with BIESP (the Peshawar board of examination). Starting 2017, a Middle School Programme affiliated with the Aga Khan University Examination Board has been initiated.
The school offers professional development to all its staff, the trainings taking place once a month for 6 hours each, totaling 72 hours per year.
New admissions take place in March and April every year.

Intermediate level classes at the Aga Khan School Meragram will start in the new academic year in 2018. The school will now provide continuous education from pre-primary to higher secondary.
