Introduction

The Diamond Jubilee Learning Resource High School (DJ LRHS), Barkulti, is over 40 years old, having been established initially as a primary school in 1974. It was upgraded to a middle school in 1987, then a community-led high school in 2000, and was converted into an AKES,P Learning Resource School in 2010.

The school serves over 500 students, 50% of which are female. English is the medium of instruction and the school teaches pre-primary through high. There are 20 teachers present, and the building boasts a total of 10 classrooms. The school has many facilities available, such as a science laboratory, an ICT laboratory, and a library.

DJ LRHS, Barkulti teaches an enhanced version of the national curriculum, and is affiliated with the Karakoram International University Education Board.

The school offers professional development to all its staff, taking place once a month for 6 hours each, totaling 72 hours per year.
