About Us
The Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad is the second in a network of Aga Khan Academies established by His Highness the Aga Khan. It follows the highly successful model established by the first Academy, which opened in Mombasa, Kenya in 2003.
The Aga Khan Academies are dedicated to providing the highest international standard of education to their students and to expanding access to quality education in countries in Africa, South and Central Asia, and the Middle East.

As with all the Academies, the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad is committed to excellence in all aspects of education. This commitment extends not only to the academic curriculum but also to the physical environment in which students interact and learn.
The Academy features an architect-designed, purpose-built campus with state-of-the-art classrooms, resource areas and sports facilities. The outstanding facilities, combined with high quality teaching, provide an optimal and inspiring environment in which to learn and teach.
To ensure access for eligible students regardless of socio-economic status or other limiting factors, admission to the Academy is means-blind and is based solely on merit.
Rigorous Academic Programme
The Academy’s academic programme has been developed according to the principles of the widely recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) and is designed to challenge students of all backgrounds. It aims to foster an ethical and public-minded outlook and enhance students’ academic excellence, analytical and study skills, sense of civic responsibility, understanding of global issues and creativity.
AKA, Hyderabad is a candidate school for the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. Experienced local and international teachers lead each of the Academy's programmes. Faculty members are up-to-date with the best educational practices and are committed both to their students’ learning and growth and to their own continuing professional and personal development.
