One of the distinguishing features of the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad, is its focus on professional development, conducted through its Professional Development Centre (PDC).
The Academy’s PDC is dedicated to training new teachers to the highest standards while offering veteran teachers the opportunity to stay on the cutting edge of education through research and practice. The PDC provides ongoing, collaborative training for Academy faculty as well as teachers from neighbouring government and other schools, thus creating a multiplier effect to enhance the quality of education more broadly.
Faculty members have access to professional development opportunities covering a variety of topics and capabilities, including general pedagogical skills, interactive learning techniques and student-centered teaching methods.
Promoting excellence in teaching, both on campus and in the broader region, is a fundamental goal of the Academy and serves to continually strengthen the quality and vitality of its staff.
