Thank you for your interest in the Aga Khan Early Learning Centre (AKELC).

At the AKELC we recognise that selecting the right nursery for your child is an important decision. Research evidence clearly indicates that the investment you make in a high quality preschool programme can bring enormous benefits for your child’s physical, social, emotional and academic development and achievement.

As the Director of the Aga Khan Early Learning Centre, Dubai (AKELC) and an experienced early years educational leader from Australia, it is my pleasure to present to you this information pack which provides details about our unique centre and our evidence-based approach to early childhood education.

The AKELC is purpose built with the aim of offering interactive experiences and creative educational spaces for young children that promote the joy of lifelong learning. The child-friendly environment and the well-trained teachers and caregivers provide a wide range of activities that are designed to stimulate children’s emerging bilingualism, as well as their social/emotional, physical and intellectual well-being. At our Centre, the teachers encourage children to plan, work and review their learning experiences daily. We place a high value on diversity and pluralism and it is with pleasure that we welcome all families into our dynamic learning community.

As parents, you are your child’s first teacher and as such, your role in your child’s educational journey is vitally important. At AKELC we appreciate your knowledge and experience that supports the development and learning of your child. A triangular partnership between parents, their children and the Centre is of paramount importance in instilling a strong foundation and love for learning. We look forward to working with you to give your child a fulfilling experience as we get to know you and your child better.
