The Aga Khan School
recognises the importance of a well-rounded education
that extends beyond the classroom.
Students can pursue a wide range of intellectual,
sporting and social activities. The School has
frequent Inter-School Competitions with students
participating in badminton, basketball, volleyball,
soccer and cricket. Besides sports, they can
participate in public speaking and Debate,
Science, Charity and Cultural Clubs. Cultural
and drama presentations are organised frequently
to enhance and celebrate the rich cultural heritage
of Bangladesh.
Switch Day
Numerous events are organised throughout the year
to balance the academic routine. Every year since
1992, Grade 12 students have exchanged roles with
teaching staff. For an entire day, students become
teachers to have a taste of an educator’s
life. This learning experience helps them realise
the challenges teachers face.
Student organised activities
The School has many student-organised activities.
A Student Council is elected from Class 12 and
chaired by the School Head Boy and Head Girl.
School prefects are selected through an interview
and recommendation process.
The School Council and Prefects actively organise
events such as:
- Debate Competitions
- Open House (Science and Social Studies Fair)
- Science Quiz
- Picnic Day
- Charity Club (Raises funds for the Children
Hospital, Flood victims and Orphanages)
- Aga Khan School, Dhaka Olympics
- Interschool Tournaments (Soccer, Basketball,
Volleyball and Cricket)
- Interschool Dance and Music Competition
- Meena Bazaar (An annual market day event)
- Principal’s Cup (An annual event run
as part of the Intra-Mural Programme to foster
healthy sports competition between classes).
These activities encourage students to develop
organisational and leadership skills and foster
a sense of school community.
