"What AKS,D gives to its students is much more than just a high school education. It provides the learner a chance to explore his or her individuality an, in doing so, helps an individual to identify with one’s soul. There are too many instances when teachers consider lectures and interaction to be mutually exclusive components of learning. In AKS,D this concept can only be considered a myth as free flows of information are exchanged between the mentors and their students in an energetic yet amiable atmosphere. It is these simple traits that make the AKS,D experience truly priceless."

Science Laboratories
An important part of science studies, the Chemistry, Physics and Biology Laboratories provide the practical experience necessary for better understanding of scientific concepts.

Library and Resource Centre
All three of the School sections have a library and a resource centre equipped with computers. The largest is in the School’s senior section. Regular annual budgeting for library resources, together with support from the Asia Foundation, enables the School to add a significant number of books to the collection.

Computer Laboratory
The School has a large computer lab in the senior section and mini labs in the primary and junior sections. In August 2003, 40 teachers received ICT training in the use of technology across the curriculum. Further training was provided in 2004 as the school moves to implement a computerized management system.

Canteen
The School features canteens in the three sections of the school where students and staff may purchase tiffin snacks and drinks.

Heritage Centre
Through an International Academic Partnership grant, a Cultural Heritage Centre was established in 2002. Since the students are from an urban environment, very few have the experience of village life, which is such an important part of Bengali culture. The Heritage Centre, located in the primary building, displays a collection of tools, fabrics, models, pictures, pots and musical instruments representing rural life.

Students visit the centre as part of their Bangla language, social studies and creative writing classes. The Heritage Centre helps to bring reality to the folk stories that abound in Bangladesh.
