The Diamond Jubilee High School for Boys recognizes the importance of a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom. Students at the School are therefore encouraged to pursue a wide range of intellectual, sporting and social activities. They participate in various inter-school activities such as elocution, debates, science exhibitions, creative writing and the arts. Students also participate in volleyball and boxing competitions.

The School Band, with 25 students, plays at school functions, the annual Sports' Day and participates in various competitions. It is well known and much in demand. Students learn how to play the drums, flute, bugle and percussion instruments from our Band Master.

Elocution Competitions

In order to develop speaking skills among the students, annual elocution competitions are conducted in English, Hindi and Marathi for the students of all classes.

Visits And Excursions

Regular visits and field trips are arranged to places of educational interest in and around the city. These visits are related to classroom topics and help reinforce learning.

Scouting

Scouting is part of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) for Secondary students. It begins in Class 8 and continues to Class 10. Each class goes camping and hiking at least once a year. Outdoor activities include cooking, camp craft and campfires. Scouting is popular with students.

Special coaching is provided to train the boys in boxing and volleyball for inter-school competitions. The School's students have performed well in both sports at inter-school competitions, consistently reaching the finals in volleyball and even winning the championship a couple of times. In boxing, students have regularly won medals and championship trophies at state level competitions.

Art
The School encourages students to sit for an Elementary and Intermediate Grade Drawing Examination, held every October. This is an effort to cultivate and develop the latent talents of our children.

The students can join one or more of these clubs:

The Interact Club is open to students in the secondary section and is actively run by Ms Arjumand Sayed. It recently was awarded the Best Interact Club Bombay Downtown Award by the Rotary Club for outstanding activities during the last academic years.
