We have committed ourselves to a more progressive curriculum - one that will equip our students far better for the challenges that lie beyond.
Our curriculum
is more contemporary, relevant and prepares children for a broader yet more inclusive and pluralistic education. Whilst making every effort to design a curriculum that is global we shall also retain the local flavour."

Principal, DJHS, Mumbai

Curriculum

The Pre Primary curriculum emphasizes child-initiated learning and encourages children to plan and develop self-paced learning. In this way, the student retains his/her natural self-confidence.
To further strengthen the less tangible qualities, such as self-discipline, self-esteem and self-awareness, he or she is provided with opportunities for physical, emotional and social development.

The Diamond Jubilee High School, MumbaiClassrooms are designed to be placed where students experience the joys of reading, verbal expression, mathematics, music, movement, water and sand play, art and craft. The complete teaching and learning process is child initiated and fun.

At the primary level, teachers plan and design Curriculum Webs to ensure that every topic in the curriculum is related to other topics.

The school follows the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (I.C.S.E) curriculum from Grade 1 to Grade 7. The Maharashtra state-prescribed curriculum is followed for Grade 8 to Grade 10. Students are taught using innovative methods and activities. Lessons at all levels are facilitated through an integrated curriculum, supplemented by a variety of co-curricular activities, field trips, class projects and Computer Aided Lessons.

Students also participate in number of inter-school activities such as elocution competitions, debates, science exhibitions, creative writing and the arts.

Education Philosophy
The School believes that:

  • Every child is potentially an independent thinker, with an infinite capacity to acquire knowledge
  • Given the space, children are capable of constructing activities that lead to effective learning outcomes
  • Child-centered education is the achievement of learning outcomes, wherein the pace and content of learning is directed by the child and supported by the facilitator (the teacher)
  • Children learn most effectively through reflections shared with peers and facilitators and through group discussions.
