A great school,
"will educate its students not merely to be personally successful but also to use their gifts to build their communities and enhance the common good to levels beyond our dreams."

Curriculum

The Shishu Pahel Paddhati methodology of the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is a well-researched system, developed by the School, which combines local needs and cultural expectations with best practices from international curricula.

The methodology emphasizes child-initiated learning that encourages children to plan and develop self-paced learning. In this way, the child retains his/her natural self-confidence while being provided with opportunities for physical, emotional and social development. The classrooms are specially designed to create spaces in which the child experiences the joys of reading, expression, mathematics, music, movement, water and sand play, arts and crafts.

At the primary level, teachers plan and design "Curriculum Webs" to ensure every topic in the curriculum is taught in its entirety and that it is correlated with other subjects.

At the secondary level, innovative methods and activities are developed to teach the state-prescribed curriculum. Lessons at all levels employ an integrated curriculum, supplemented by a variety of co-curricular activities, field trips and class projects.

The complete teaching and learning process is child-initiated and meant to be fun. The children participate in a number of inter-school activities such as elocutions, debates, science exhibitions, creative writing and the arts.

Education Philosophy
The School believes that:

  • Every child is potentially an independent thinker, with an infinite capacity to acquire knowledge,
  • Given the space, children are capable of constructing activities that lead to effective learning outcomes,
  • Child-centered education is the achievement of learning outcomes, wherein the pace and content of learning is directed by the child and supported by the facilitator (the teacher),
  • Children learn most effectively through collective reflections shared with peers and facilitators and through group discussions.
