Aga Khan Junior School
The Aga Khan Academy Junior is a PYP authorized school offering the best in international education at a pleasant campus in the Parklands suburb of Nairobi.
The School accommodates about 300 students from international and multi-cultural communities. The School is open to all races, religions and nationalities and is operated by the Aga Khan Education Service, Kenya (AKES, K).
The Junior School offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). The focus of the programme, designed for students aged 3 to 12, is on the development of the whole child in the classroom and in the world. It draws on research and best practices to create an engaging and challenging education programme for our student population.
The Junior School strives to create a harmonious balance between academic demands, sporting and cultural activities and community life. It challenges its pupils to be intellectually inquisitive and socially conscious.
Developing critical thinking and inquiry is at the core of the School’s mission. The School also encourages students to respect and appreciate other people’s cultures, social structures, values and beliefs. Taken together, these objectives are designed to help equip children with the tools they will need to make their way in school, society and an increasingly interdependent world.
