Established in 1970, the Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi is a private, co-educational school situated in pleasant surroundings in the Parklands suburb of Nairobi.

The Aga Khan Academy, NairobiThe Academy strives to create a harmonious balance between academic demands, sporting and cultural activities and community life.The Academy strives to create a harmonious balance between academic demands, sporting and cultural activities and community life. It challenges its pupils to be intellectually inquisitive and socially conscious. The School believes that while what students know is important, the true measure of a student’s education is the ability to analyse what they do not know.

The Academy offers the International Baccalaureate curriculum-the Primary Years Programme (PYP) at the Nursery School and Junior School, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) from Grades 7-11 and the Diploma Programme (DP) at Grades 12-13. Students also sit for the International General Certificate of Education (I.G.C.S.E) at the end of Grade 11.

International BaccalaureateThe Academy offers the International Baccalaurate Curriculum and the International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE). The School has been authorized to offer the Diploma Programme of the IBO since the year 2000, and in 2009, became a candidate school to offer the Middle Years Programmme(MYP) of the IBO.  The MYP is currently offered at Grades 7-9, while the School continues to offer the IGCSE at Grades 10-11, and is a registered center with University of Cambridge International Examinations.

Student from the Aga Khan Academy Nairobi enroll in top-ranked universities around the world - most recently, Kavan Shah (Class of 2008) enrolled at Oxford University in the UK, and 80% of the same class enrolled at various universities around the world including University of British Columbia, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo in Canada; University of Manchester, London School of Economics in the UK, and Curtin and Monash Universities in Australia.
