The Academy, with support from the Aga Khan Education
Service in Kenya, is strongly committed to promoting
and enhancing quality education. A variety of techniques,
workshops, seminars and exchange programmes are employed
to ensure that teachers are better-trained and skilled
and that they have the means to provide a more varied,
interesting and enriched learning experience for students.
Continuing Professional Development
There are many facets of the professional development
programme:
- Team teaching and peer appraisal
- Staff workshops and subject workshops with other
schools
- Termly school seminars on selected themes
- Aga Khan Education Service, Kenya network workshops
- Membership of Professional Associations, e.g.,
AISA, Global Connections
- Distance training for IGCSE. (Cambridge)
- I.B. International training workshops
- Exchange programmes with Phillips Academy, USA
in English, Mathematics, Economics, Science, I.T.,
Library Technology
- Linkage at Certificate, Diploma or Degree
levels with Aga Khan University, Institute
of Education Development.
Oversight of these programmes is provided by senior
personnel of the Academy and the Aga Khan Education Service's
Kenya Central office. |
