Admission
Admission is based solely on merit. It is also means-blind - that is, selection is based not on the ability to pay but on merit determined by a wide range of criteria, including academic strengths and overall potential.

Grade One Entry
In September each year, the Aga Khan Junior Academy enrolls 50 students. Students apply from various nursery schools in Nairobi. Selection is based on performance on entry level assessments. Some interviews may also be conducted. Grade one admissions range from ages 5.9 upto 6.9 by December of the year in which they are planning to enroll.

Transfer from other schools
For admission, an applicant is required to sit an entrance test. An interview may be held with the student and sometimes with parents. Past reports from previous schools are taken into consideration upon entry.
