Curriculum

The School offers the Kenya National (8-4-4) Curriculum from Form 1 to Form 4. At the end of the four years’ course in high school, students sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (KCSE) which qualifies them for university education.

In January 2010 a Grade 9 class offering the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum was started. These students will sit for ‘O’ level exams in May/June 2012.  The School’s next objective is to introduce Level 1 of the ‘A’ level class in September, 2010.

The following subjects are offered in KCSE:

  • English
  • Kiswahili
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Islamic and Christian Religious Studies (besides History & Government and Geography)
  • Business Studies
  • Home Science
  • Computer Studies (Computer Literacy is compulsory in Form 1 and Form 2)
  • Two foreign languages (French and Arabic)
  • Physics (which is optional in Form 3 and Form 4).


In the IGCSE, the subjects offered are: English Language, Literature in English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Business Studies and Kiswahili/French.

Extra-curricular Activities
Junior Achievement, Debating, Drama, Elocution, Music, Sports, Ranger Guides, Scouting, Young Farmers Club, First Aid, Interact Club, and Presidents Award Scheme.

Organization of and active participation in Inter-House, Inter-School and National Competitions.
