Aga Khan High School Nairobi brings in Outstanding IGCSE results with its first Cohort
Posted on 06 September 2010
In January 2009, the Aga Khan High School Nairobi introduced the IGCSE curriculum in parallel with the KCSE curriculum, with the intention of offering a high-quality alternative to other community schools in Nairobi. The school is pleased to advise the Jamat that its first cohort of IGCSE students, sitting the first-ever IGCSE exams at the school, attained a 91% pass rate in the May 2010 IGCSE examinations with the stop student scoring 6A and 1B grades. Over 64% of all grades were A* to B.
The Aga Khan High School Nairobi was certified as a Cambridge International Examinations Center in 2009; all teachers teaching IGCSE have been trained to Cambridge Level 2 training and are currently obtaining a Cambridge Diploma in Teaching. Fees per term for IGCSE are currently Kshs 40,000 per term plus a textbook levy. The school intends to introduce the A-level programme in September 2011.
