Staff Quality is at the heart of the teaching and learning process. Our team of highly experienced and devoted teachers is dedicated to providing every child with the best educational opportunity possible.
The personal touch is evident in the nurturing and caring environment in the school, while the professional touch is evident in the teaching methodology and the in-service opportunities that the school is engaged in.
Staff Development The Aga Khan Nursery School continually supports staff development to ensure that teachers are conversant with the latest educational trends to enhance their pedagogical skills.
Most teachers have undergone PYP Introductory and PYP Intermediate training at workshops conducted by IBO trainers.
Members of staff also get the opportunity to attend external workshops such as AISA Conferences or AMICUS workshops.
Other workshops such as Brain Gym, First Aid Training, HIV/AIDS awareness sessions have been conducted at the school by external facilitators.
In addition, the school conducts an annual professional development ‘needs analysis’ and plans in-service workshops accordingly. Members of staff are encouraged and supported to undertake further training. This year the PYP Lead Teacher undertook the CELM (Certificate in Leadership and Management training), offered by the Aga Khan University, Institute for Educational Development, Eastern Africa (AKU-IED, EA).
