International Fund for Animal Welfare - Calendar CompetitionPosted on 26 July 2012
"Young Nation" (Nation Newspaper) and the "Generation Next" (Standard Newspaper) respectfully splashed the pages of their March 2012 issues with the pictures and descriptions of Aga Khan Academy’s Visual Arts students.
The students had emerged winners at the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s (IFAW) Animal Action Education (AAE) Calendar Design and Bookmark Competition featuring the theme "Elephants Never Forget" Calendar Design and Book Mark competitions.
The students and the school excelled in the Animal Action (AAE) Programme Calendar Design competition.
The first prize was scooped by Naylee Nagda in the High School category and the second prize was won by Amanda Abigael while Megan Warsame received a consolation prize.
In the Junior High category, Ben Spybey’s design was judged as the best and he took home the first position prize. The second position prize was awarded to Kevin Maina and the third to Ashni Dave. In this category, the consolation prizes were presented to Stephanie Nazi, Nicole Wairegi and Priyanka Shah.
In the Bookmark Design competition category, students who were rewarded with IFAW branded bags, key-chains and T-shirts included: Sydelle Diniz, Angela Otuka, Gaya Aggarwal, Mary Natalie, Mihir Jethwa, Tanika Dodhia, Sabeeha Manji, Alida Damji, Shabnam Nanji, Lamis Sheikh, Afroza Shivji, Zhoya Khan, Dhruvi Shah, Ashni Dave, Naylee Nagda, Ruqayyah, Anoushka Bhari, Durva Jadhan, Bhavika Vekeria, Rushda Sheikh, Sabrina Malik, Simran Nizar, Irfan Jaffer, and Raymond Kiguru.
