Established in 1986, the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School (AKHSS), Hunza provides education to girls from grade VIII to grade XII.
For the past 30 years, AKHSS, Hunza has been providing students with quality education. Today, the school’s alumnae are active in various fields including medicine, engineering, agriculture, education leadership, teaching, research, lecturing, social work and nursing.
They hold leading positions in government and non-government organisations. Graduates have also earned academic repute outside of Pakistan.

The School Building
The AKHSS, Hunza building is one of the most beautiful structures in the region. Designed in harmony with its surroundings, it has beautiful gardens and balconies from where students and faculty can enjoy the landscape. The building is seismic resistant and embodies features of the local architecture.
The school cafeteria provides teachers and students with a relaxing environment. Offering a proper lunch as well as a variety of snacks, its quality and pricing is closely monitored by the school administration.
Clubs & Societies
The School recognises the importance of a well-rounded education and emphasises holistic learning that extends beyond the classroom. Towards this end, the school arranges different co-curricular activities throughout the year. Early in the year, students are divided into four houses which compete in different activities — such as sports, arts, writing, debate and drama — during the Students Week. The winning house enjoys the status of champion for the entire year.
