The Curriculum: A Blend
of Local and International Approaches
The School has an eclectic approach to curriculum
following the Karakuram International University,
Examination Board prescribed curriculum and
enriching it with curricular material designed
and developed in-School following current educational
trends.
The School curriculum strives to create a harmonious
balance between academic demands, sporting and
cultural activities and community life. It challenges
its pupils to be intellectually inquisitive
and socially conscious. The School believes
that while what students know is important,
the true measure of a student’s education
is the ability to analyse what they do not know.
Developing critical thinking and analysis is
therefore at the core of the School’s
mission. The School also encourages students
to respect and appreciate other people’s
cultures, social structures, values and beliefs.
Taken together, these objectives are designed
to help equip children with the tools they will
need to make their way in school, society and
an increasingly interdependent world.
Education is no longer treated as individual
subjects such as Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology
or Economics. Instead, similar subjects are
clustered and redefined as a learning area bringing
a holistic approach to education.
The School Academic Programmes
The School offers courses leading to the Secondary
School Certificate and Higher Secondary School
Certificate from the Karakuram International
University, Northern Areas. Students are admitted
to Class Prep 9 and Class 11.
The preparatory year was introduced to improve

reading habits, practical application of mathematics
in science and daily life through activity-based
learning.
Students also improve their creative writing
abilities through group discussions, producing
book reports, guided pair and individual work,
debates, speeches, science practical work, field
trips, class presentations and prose and poetry
writing assignments. Subjects taught include;
