Q: How do I enrol my child?
A: Admission to the School is based on merit
and contingent upon the availability of seats.
Placement tests and interviews conducted throughout
the Northern Areas. Placement tests are conducted
both in English and Urdu to give all eligible
candidates an opportunity to be admitted without
language restrictions. Forty students are then
admitted to Prep. IX and Class XI. Enrolment
is announced in the local media.

A: The School encourages diversity. Students
from diverse religious backgrounds are currently
enrolled at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School,
Hunza. Admission is strictly based on merit.

A: The Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Hunza,
the first residential school of its kind, offers
higher secondary education to female students
from Northern Pakistan’s urban and remote
areas. The girls School provides Preparatory
IX to Class XII education to college students
in the Science disciplines.

Q: Why has the School introduced the Preparatory
IX level?
A: Most recently admitted students come from an
Urdu speaking background. The preparatory year
is devoted to enhancing their English language
skills and laying a strong conceptual understanding
of the Sciences and Mathematics.
Q: How is the Prep IX curriculum offered
at the School different from other English-medium
schools?
A: The School’s Prep IX curriculum is developed
by subject specialists to meet the academic needs
of its students. The curriculum is content based
rather than textbook oriented.
Q: After successfully completing their
Secondary and Higher Secondary School Certificate,
where do your graduates go?
A: Graduates continue their studies at professional
colleges, national and international universities.
Some have pursued Bachelors, Masters of PhD programme
at the London Institute for Ismaili Studies, Karachi
University, Punjab University, Quaid-e-Azam Univeristy,
Peshawer University, Fatima Jinnah Medical College
Lahore, Ayub Medical College Abbotabad and NED

and several other post graduate colleges spread

In the last 16 years, alumni have become doctors,

Q: Does the School offer scholarships?
A: It does not offer scholarships. However,
remission of fees is provided based on need and

A: The School organises career-counseling sessions
for its graduating students. Counselors work with
individuals assisting them to chart their career
path and guiding them to achieve their personal
academic goals. The School maintains links with
local and national universities assisting students
