It was declared the “Best House of the Year” as its members won the most number of top prizes. A variety of inter-house activities such as English and Urdu debates, speeches, skits, essay writing, qawali, painting competitions and sports were organised.
New Principal Joins the SchoolMs Mehnaz Jehan joined the school on August 15, 2006 as the new principal. She has been working with AKESP, Gilgit for the last seven years. She has been working as lecturer for English at the Aga Khan Higher secondary School, Gilgit and professional development teacher prior to her joining the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Hunza as the principal.
Summer VacationsThe school will remain closed for Summer Vacations from July 01-31, 2007.
Inter-School CompetitionThe students participated in the inter-school (AKHSS) Co- curricular Activities competition; Urdu extempore speech, English prepared speech, Urdu and English Creative Writing, Drawing and Painting.
Presentation on Use of ICT in ClassroomA presentation on how to use ICT in classroom was made by Mr. Amjad (lecturer for chemistry).
20th Annual DayThe Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Hunza's 20th Annual Day was held in November. Mr. Assad Zaidi, Deputy speaker Northern Areas Legislative council, was the Chief Guest.
The program began with Holy Quran and Naat recitations. Students entertained guests with English and Urdu skits on daily problems faced by people. They also shared their feelings and expectations of parents and teachers with a beautifully written Qawali. The program ended after the prizes were distributed among the students who performed best in curricular and non curricular activities during the whole year.
Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Training ProgramSchool faculty attended a five-day workshop organized by two VSOs Mr. Terry and Mrs Sue. The objective of the workshop was to help teachers improve the quality of the education provided by the Aga Khan Higher Secondary Schools.
