Q: Does my child need to be from a particular community to be admitted to the School?
A: The School encourages diversity. Students from diverse religious backgrounds are currently enrolled at The Aga Khan School, Kharadhar. Admission is strictly based on merit.

Q: Why study at an Aga Khan School?
A: The Aga Khan approach provides students with a holistic education (a balanced textbook & co-curricular approach which includes social and moral guidance). Aga Khan students are seen as balanced life-time learners who can adapt well to both private and public education systems at their current level and as they further their studies. The educators at Aga Khan Schools, all of whom are professionally trained, are on a programme of continuous improvement.

Q: Should I be concerned that my child might be influenced by another religion?
A: No. The School respects all religions. However, as required by the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi, Muslim students have to sit for the Islamiat examination, whereas non-Muslims opt for a subject from a range of available choices.

Q: Will my child have a balanced education?
A: The School’s vision is to provide a balanced education that leads to intellectual competence, critical thinking and an ethical framework that informs a student's life, both in and beyond school.

Q: Will my child be able to cope in another Aga Khan School?
A: All the Aga Khan Schools in Karachi follow similar curricula and schemes of work; therefore, students seeking to transfer to other Aga Khan schools should find it easy to adjust in the new environment.

Q: Will my child be able to cope in any other international or local school?
A: Since the approach involves students in a variety of activities through group work and collaborative learning, it would be very easy for students to adjust themselves to schools that follow similar approaches.

Q: Will my child have to study a local language?
A: As prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi and the Directorate of School Education, it is compulsory for students to study the provincial language (Sindhi) and the national language (Urdu). The School offers a native languages programme to make languages an enjoyable learning experience.

Q: What if my child falls ill during school hours?
A: A trained nurse is available at all times during school hours and caters to the medical needs of students. If your child is suffering from a serious medical condition, there are various medical facilities within the vicinity including our sister institution the Aga Khan Hospitals. In cases of emergency, parents are informed immediately.
