Usually people think that Maths is a dry subject and one needs to have very sharp skills to be good at it. But this was negated when teachers of Aga Khan School came across the idea of celebrating Maths Fun Day.
The basic rationale of this programme was that whatever students have done in the class rooms should come out from the four walls of the class room, not only for the students but also for the neighbouring schools and other Aga Khan Schools of Karachi to see. It was a unique experience of diversified learning environment where teachers and students both were involved as facilitators and learners.
Students and teachers prepared unique charts connecting mathematics with nature and daily life beyond the text book world. They selected interesting mathematical games to involve the participants in learning mathematics with fun.
All the stalls were set up into two groups, one was from III – V and another was from VI – VIII so that everyone got equal opportunity for participation.
This programme was not only a memorable and interactive learning experience for the students of Kharadhar school but also for the neighbouring schools and other campuses of Aga Khan Schools, Karachi whose students and faculty were invited.
