For three consecutive
years (2000-2001, 2001-2002 and 2002-2003),
Mzizima was awarded the Certificate Of Excellence
(1st Grade) from the Minister of Education and
Culture and Inspectorate, Eastern Zone, Tanzania,
for exemplary performance at the Tanzanian National
Examinations.
In 2002, 2003 and 2004 the School was recognized
by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher
Education for producing the Best Girl students
in Sciences in Tanzania. This award encourages
girls to opt for science subjects by recognizing
the top three performers in Physics, Chemistry
and Biology and the overall best girl student
in the Sciences. In 2004, Zuhura Mwale, Everyn
Mkutchika and Martina Komba were proud recipients
of this award. The school was also given a cash
award of Tshs 900,000 for the second consecutive
year.
Farah Ahmed of Grade 10 won the CIS (Council
of International Schools) Award Design Competition
2005 worldwide. This winning design will be
a background on the Certificates awarded to
students for "outstanding achievements"
in International Schools under CIS.
Academic Results
Mzimima students sit for three public
examinations at Form II, IV and VI levels. Upon
successful completion of the Form IV and VI
examinations, students are awarded the Certificate
of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE -
‘O’ level) and the Advanced Certificate
of Secondary Education Examinations (ASCEE -
‘A’ level) respectively. It is awarded
by the National Examination Council of Tanzania.
The School Inspectorate conducts the Form II
examinations on a Zonal basis and is an attempt
to ensure and enhance quality.
