Admissions Procedures
The Aga Khan Nursery School, Dar es Salaam has three year groups with three classes in each year.
Children are admitted to the age appropriate class.
| Year | Age before 1st September |
| Year 1 | 2 yrs 6 months |
| Year 2 | 3 yrs 6 months |
| Year 3 | 4 yrs 6 months |
For admission to Year 1 parents are invited to come with their child for an interview to assess the child’s readiness for attending nursery school.
Children are expected to be toilet trained before they start nursery. Paediatricians advise us that if children are not toilet trained they are not developmentally ready for nursery school as they will not have the necessary concentration to listen and follow instructions and play cooperatively. At the time of admission the Headteacher will willingly provide support and guidance for parents who are anxious about this matter.
Visits to the School
Parents and prospective students are most welcome to make an appointment to meet the Headteacher and to have a tour of the school.
Office hours are 7.30 am to 4.00 pm.
