A great school,
"will educate its students not merely to be personally successful but also to use their gifts to build their communities and enhance the common good to levels beyond our dreams."

His Highness
The Aga Khan

Overview

During early childhood children have a rapid rate of development emotionally, socially, physically, artistically and intellectually.

CurriculumOur programme at the Aga Khan Nursery School incorporates this knowledge into the educational curriculum, which is well-researched, planned and implemented.

The building of secure and trusting relationships with other children and adults is also an important part of learning and we ensure this aspect of nursery education is fully integrated into our programme.

The experiences that contribute to a child’s learning and development are defined by social and cultural contexts; the family, home, nursery school and the local community. The Nursery School encourages family knowledge and involvement in the Nursery Programme through workshops, weekly meetings. Parents are also welcomed to come and help in the classroom.

Since we spend most of our lives with, and alongside others, it is important that children develop team skills to enable them as adults to be successful with family, at work and within the community.  Team and group skills are learnt while working and playing together.  AKNS has well-equipped classrooms and a large playground area with equipment and space to run around and play games which provide our pupils with opportunity to develop and work collaboratively as team members.
