Q: Does my child need
to be Asian to attend your school?
A: No. In fact, the School is multi-cultural
and accepts children from all walks of life.
Q: Why study at the Aga Khan School?
A: The Aga Khan School strives for excellence
through a continuous process of improvement
that features regular review of teachers and
programmes. At the same time, it works to create
a harmonious balance between academic demands,
sporting and cultural activities and community
life. In addition, its graduates are sought
after by universities in Uganda and abroad.
Q: Should I be concerned that my child
will be influenced by another religion?
A: The Aga Khan Primary School follows non-discriminatory
policies and fosters an atmosphere that is respectful
and understanding of different beliefs and cultures.
Q: Will my child have a balanced education?
A: Besides achieving good academic results,
students are encouraged to pursue a wide range
of co-curricular activities. The School offers
varied activities, including all major Sports
(Soccer, Basketball, Cricket, Hockey, Swimming)
and up to 16 Clubs and Societies, such as Roots
and Shoots, Art, Drama, Environment, First Aid

Q: Will it be difficult for my child
to adjust in another Aga Khan School?
A :Not at all. The Aga Khan Primary School in
Dar es Salaam is part of the Aga Khan Education
Service which currently operates more than 300
schools all of which upkeep the same very high
standards. Socially, current students have reflected
that most Aga Khan Schools offer a similar social
culture and equally dynamic environment.
Q: Will my child have difficulty in
any other international or local school?
A: No, the IBO Primary Years Programme strives
to enable students to gain an in-depth understanding
of a range of concepts across most of subject
areas treated at primary school level. Therefore,
a student leaving Aga Khan primary School, Dar
es Salaam will be able to adjust with ease to
the curriculum offered by the receiving school,
be it local or international.
Q: Will my child have to study a local
language?
A: Yes. The IBO - Primary Years Programme aims
at developing an inernational outlook but not
at the expense of the individual’s cultural
identity. Therefore, Kiswahili, being the Tanzanian
national language, is compulsory for all students
to study from Grades 1 - 6. Thereafter, students
can either choose Kiswahili or another modern
foreign language (eg French).
Q: Will my child find it difficult to
adjust to the local students?
A: No. The School's secular environment warmly
welcomes students from all walks of life, ensuring
tolerance and acceptance by staff and students.
Q: What if my child falls ill during
school hours?
A: The school has a resident qualified nurse
who attends to minor health problems and keeps
student health records. In cases of emergency,
government, private and the Aga Khan hospitals
are in close proximity.
Q: Do you provide textbooks?
A: Yes. The School provides basic text-books
for the use of students. The School Library
offers additional supplementary resources to
meet students’ and teachers’ needs.

A: Though the School does not provide transportation,
private transporters can provide reliable services
upon request.
Q: Do you provide canteen services?
A: The School Canteen offers meals and snacks
during breaks, lunchtime and after school at
reasonable prices.
Q: Where do your graduates go?
A: Most students pursue their secondary education
at the Aga
Khan Mzizima Secondary School. Others study
at reputed secondary schools.
Q: What facilities are available?
A: The School boasts of a modern automated Library,
two well-equipped Computer laboratories, an
Audio-Visual room, Science laboratories and
