Grade 4 student Malcolm Nyembera, 10, received a "Special Zeze" award for his outstanding contribution to creativity and artistic talent in theatre.

Guest of Honour, Ilala District Commissioner Hon Athuman Mdoe, presented Nyembera with the award at a ceremony organised by the Tanzania Culture Trust Fund.

Nyembera is a household name in Tanzania. He appears weekly on the popular childrens programme, “Kipindi cha watoto” aired on the Independent Television network (ITV). Only two children have received this award. Previous recipients include world-renowned authors and poets, Shaaban Robert and Shafi Adam.

Besides his involvement in theatre, Nyembera is a keen sportperson. He has excelled in Athletics, attained an overall third position in the 2002 Annual Examination and recognised for his contribution to the school’s Annual Creative Exhibition.
