Academic Curriculum

The school offers both the KCSE (8-4-4 Kenya National Curriculum) from Form 1 to Form 4, as well as the International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) from Grades 9 -11 and GCE.

At the Aga Khan High School, Nairobi, students can involve themselves in the planned creative activities.

We have school trips which complement the teacher’s role by providing a stimulating environment where, under the guidance of experienced facilitators, students involve themselves in the planned creative activities that add fun and excitement to the learning experience.

Co-Curricular Activities

Students at the Aga Khan High School, Nairobi partake in a vibrant student life which includes many activities and clubs, such as:

  • Scouts/Girl guides
  • Saint John’s Cadets club
  • Science Club, World Scholars club
  • Junior Achievers Club and Presidents Award Club
  • Model United Nations ( MUN) among other clubs

The school is committed to the nurturing and development of all-rounded students.

Admissions to Form 1 in KCSE are open to students that have attained 300 marks and above in KCPE. Interviews may also be conducted to assess the student’s ability and fit to the school's values.

Admissions to Grade 9 of IGCSE are open to:

  • KCPE graduates from the previous December only with a mean score of 300 marks and above
  • Transfers from other schools with an IGCSE programme require a mean grade of C or higher
  • Transfers from a KCSE school from Form 1 into Grade 9, Form 2 into Grade 10 who show a B- grade or higher and who pass the entrance examination into the IGCSE at the Aga Khan High School, along with an entrance interview.

Students transferring from other schools are required to have a minimum C average from their current school, with no D or E grades, and a clean certificate of conduct from their current school.
