Fifty seven students from The Aga Khan School, Dhaka participated in the sixth inter-school Bangla Olympiad for students of English medium institutions on February 11, 2017 at the premises of International Turkish Hope School (ITHS). They competed in six categories: group dance, poem recitation, essay writing, singing, art and forum speaking.
Sarah Nawar of grade V and Khadiza Binte Ahsan won awards in art, Muntasina Aziza Yeana of grade VII in poem recitation and Namira Rasul in forum speaking. They received awards for their outstanding performance at a grand award ceremony held on February 18, 2017.
In tribute to all martyrs of 1952 and International Mother Language Day, every year International Turkish Hope School celebrates by organizing an interschool Bangla Olympiad. A total of 1,400 students from 58 schools of Dhaka and Chittagong participated in the Olympiad this year.
On November 27, 2016, The Cambridge Examination board organized "Outstanding Cambridge Learners Award" Ceremony at Hotel Westin. Eight of our students received the "Top in Country" award for their qualification. 7 students qualified International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and 1 Cambridge International AS. Proma Ayesha Kibria of Grade XI was selected to address the audience on behalf of the awardees at the Awards Ceremony. In her speech, she talked about the hardship and reflections of all awardees. She also, remarked that “Rome was not built in a day”. She also reminded the audience, that "before we (awardees) patting ourselves on the back a little too hard, we cannot forget to acknowledge all those who have contributed towards our success today".
Her words were echoed by The Special Guests and Chief Guest in their speeches.
