From the Principal's Desk

Dear All,

Welcome to DJHS!

The world of the classroom and learning has undergone both visible and invisible changes. There is an immediate need to prepare the current generation to face the new realities and emerging trends – knowledge, the digital age etc. It has changed the way children think, learn and imagine their worlds.

Our Primary school curriculum is carefully designed to cater to the needs of changing trends in learning and facilitate the learning of skills that are very relevant for students’ current and future needs. The blend of activities, hands-on experiences, celebrations and field trips bring out the best. –These activities represent the shift from an emphasis on providing content to providing skills, from looking at the classroom as the only point of learning to accepting that learning happens across life spaces.

We encourage our children to observe the world around and to express themselves in a variety of ways. Children need to touch, feel, explore, analyze, investigate and experience. Through active participation, learning goes beyond knowing to experiencing.

We are very conscious of the fact that emotional stability plays a very significant role in the healthy growth of the child. One important tool is a curriculum which is based on an open and interactive approach. All our school activities are therefore based on the spirit to discover. They are designed to strengthen the inherent talent in the students while bolstering their physical, emotional, social and cultural needs.

In our high school, apart from intensive curricular training through interactive approaches, our co-curricular activities like drama, art, music, dance, sports, yoga, etc., develop students’ motor skills as well as their creative and imaginative skills.

Our creative, passionate and committed staff constantly work to provide an environment that nurtures stress-free learning that brings out the hidden talents in our children.

Because educators also need to learn, unlearn and relearn to remain contemporary and fill the need gaps in learning, we constantly update our staff through periodic training programmes.

We believe that a strong communication network is essential for the creation of a successful school. We will continue to endeavor to build an ongoing relationship between students, teachers, parents and community. We welcome your suggestions to make the learning process more effective.

Best Regards,

Dr. Sujatha Gade
