Dr Ngwaru Maghembe, a member of parliament at the East African Community, graced the event and was the guest of honour. Along with Ms Blandina Duwe, the head of school, Dr Ngwaru congratulated the students and thanked the parents and teachers for their unwavering support and dedication. They both spoke about the importance of early childhood education and how it lays the foundation for future learning. The guest of honour also encouraged the young graduates to embrace curiosity and continue to strive for excellence as they move forward in their educational journey.

Parents and guardians proudly attended the ceremony, cheering as their children received awards and graduation certificates. The children wore colourful wings during the event as it was themed around butterflies, symbolising their growth and readiness to transition to the next phase of their education. Alongside the awards presentation, the ceremony featured heartfelt and fun stage performances, including singing and dancing.

Ms  Newadita, a parent of a KG3 student, thanked the teachers for celebrating the children's successes, learnings and accomplishments, and for making the children feel like “rising stars”.

"The graduation song ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ was the best part of the ceremony,” she said. “The children were very happy and walked on the red carpet like superstars. The day was special for my daughter, and the teachers made her journey comfortable from the beginning. Slowly and gradually, she will reach the 'peak of glory' with the confidence she has gained in her early education."

Ms Shabnam Ladak, the KG3 team leader, expressed her immense pride and joy in witnessing the students' remarkable transformation.

“As a teacher involved in this wonderful ceremony, I am immensely proud of each student's journey and growth,” she said. “Watching them transform into confident, curious learners ready for primary school has been a truly rewarding experience.”

The Aga Khan Nursery and Primary School, Dar es Salaam looks forward to witnessing the continued success of these students as they embark on their primary school journey, carrying with them the knowledge, values and confidence they have gained during their time in Kindergarten.
