The Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi successfully hosted a thought-provoking conference on artificial intelligence (AI) and Education 4.0 titled, "Empowering Minds, Shaping the Future", on 15 July 2023.

This event served as an informative exchange of ideas, bringing together over 120 lecturers and teachers from various schools in the South of Pakistan, including the Aga Khan Higher Secondary Schools in Karachi, Hyderabad and Kharadhar, the Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan School, Karachi and the Aga Khan Schools in Garden and Hafizabad. Distinguished speakers shared their insights and experiences, delving into the intricate relationship between AI and education.  

The school was honoured to host leading experts in education, computer technology, finance and commerce, such as Dr Farid Panjwani; Dr Shehzad Jeeva; Mr Azhar Nawaz; Dr Imran Amin; Mr Mahboob Mahmood; Mr Rooshan Aziz; Ms Ailia Zehra; and Ms Nighat Shaheen, who graciously shared their wisdom and expertise. The conference sessions covered a wide array of topics exploring how AI will shape education in the upcoming years. There was also an informative discussion highlighting how individuals can enhance education through this emerging technology. Each session provided invaluable insights into the transformative power of AI in education and its potential to shape the future of learning. 

“Attending the conference centred around the contemporary theme of AI was a valuable learning experience,” said Shagufta Shazadi, the academic coordinator at the school in Karachi. “The AI tools presented not only sensitised teachers to the technological revolution but also offered practical applications for integrating them into their teaching practices. Furthermore, the keynote speaker's presentation on the transformation of the industrial era, from its inception to industry 4.0, was truly insightful.”
