Diamond Jubilee Learning Resource High School, Phander unveils upgraded ICT lab
The Diamond Jubilee Learning Resource High School, Phander celebrated the reinauguration of its information and communications technology (ICT) lab in November, following a comprehensive renovation and a significant upgrade of its equipment.
With a rich history spanning over 30 years, the Diamond Jubilee Learning Resource High School, Phander was established as a primary school in 1984. It was upgraded to a learning resource school in 2010 and into a K-12 school in 2019, continuously embracing transformative changes in education. This revamped lab, equipped with modern facilities, is poised to benefit more than 500 students and teachers, offering a transformative educational experience.
The reinauguration ceremony was graced by the President of the Local Council for Phander Bul Bul Aman, who was accompanied by Khano Ishaq, the academic coordinator for the Aga Khan Education Service (AKES), Pakistan. The head teacher, parents, teachers, the school support committee and esteemed community members were also in attendance.
During this momentous event, the head teacher delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the revamped features, enhanced uses and invaluable benefits of the renewed computer lab, emphasising the skills that will be nurtured among the students.
"As a parent, witnessing the evolution of the school over the years has been remarkable,” said Shaheen Baig, one of the parents in attendance. “This upgrade in the ICT lab signifies a commitment to our children's education, providing them with the tools to excel in a rapidly changing world.”
Mr Ishaq then spoke about AKES, Pakistan's recent interventions, focusing on elevating educational quality and expanding infrastructure across multiple schools in the region.
"Having access to updated technology makes learning more exciting and relevant,” said Grade 11 student Karishma Untrack. We're thrilled about the possibilities this new lab brings for exploring and expanding our skills.”
